The coating is only part of the job.
Before choosing an underbody protection product, you need to know the condition of the metal beneath any existing coating.
This vehicle had previously been coated over existing rust. Corrosion progressed beneath the coating, and the vehicle was eventually written off because the damage was too severe to repair.
Our inspection found that the first two stages of any proper treatment had been skipped: the underbody was never cleaned and the existing rust was never removed. The coating was applied straight over it, and the products used were not suitable for the job. Sealed in under the wrong coating, the corrosion spread faster than it would have on an untreated vehicle.
Inspect the surface, address existing corrosion and follow the preparation requirements for the selected protection system. If you are unsure about an existing coating or the condition underneath it, get advice before applying more product.
